Guest Artist Kade Brockhausen

Today's guest art comes to us from Kade Brokhausen, who is currently in the midst of preparing to publish his own webcomic about dragons. That's the kind of project I've always wanted to try my hand at myself, but never could come up with a decent story for - and Kade not only has an excellent premise but  also promises to have some EXCELLENT action scenes as well. Just look at this piece of Thistle! And the colors!! My gosh this dude is going to go on to be an incredible action choreographer. SIGN ME UP. I can't wait for that comic to go live; you know I'll be reading it!

Thank you for the amazing guest art, Kade!

Let's do some housekeeping and announcements!

As I'm sure you all noticed, I've been rather spotty with updates; this is because I am currently in the midst of discussing DotL's situation with my employer, and trying to renegotiate the terms of my situation before my initial end-date in October. Since the show I've been working on has been renewed for a second season, I've basically got guaranteed employment for another year after this date, but I am hoping to change some aspects about it after this point (the comic's publishing/hiatus status, obviously).

This has been a somewhat distracting and stressful experience, to the point that I have decided that I will be focusing primarily on that, along with trying to finish as many pages as I can before this date (which I am choosing to be  optimistic about). In a worse case scenario, I'll have to re-examine my situation and try to make some decisions about some things. In the meantime, I've been looking into a DIFFERENT kind of comic project, one so far removed from DotL's genres and style that I think it would be really difficult for it to fall into the same circumstances as DotL did. You can see more of that project by clicking here.

I'm sorry I'm being so vague and cryptic about the situation! not only is it a still-developing legal situation, but I am overly cautious - to the point that I haven't posted ANYTHING related to DotL anywhere - and over this past year, not having a personal project to work on has impacted my mental health pretty bad. I need something of my own to work on and vent through. It stinks!

What I'm trying to get at with all of this is: I will be turning my attention to these aforementioned things, so the site will go a touch quiet for a moment. I'm also hoping this inactivity will help my case with certain individuals ("I've been a good kid! Please mom can I go play?"), and it will help my focus and workload immensely.

Remember, though I'm gonna go a little radio silent here, I will inevitably return with good news one way or the other. In the meantime, you can see what I'm up to on any of my Social Media channels. I'm most active on Twitter and Tumblr.

It's been a LONG year. Thank you all so much for your patience and support during this time. I wouldn't be where I am without you. Keep your fingers crossed for me, and send good vibes!
